Here’s some fun places in our surrounding area…

Conveniently Located; Wonderfully Remote

Johnson Woods:  Johnson Woods remains Ohio's best remaining Old Forest in Ohio and is only five minutes from your location! Many of the trees are over 400 years old and over 120 feet tall; these trees grow 50 feet before the first limbs begin to occur. With a boardwalk to view the forest, it is a fun walk for the whole family, no matter what the weather is.

Trails: Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath has over 90 miles of trails running north to South and follows parts of the original route of the canal; in the mid 1800’s mules could be seen pulling the canal boats on this historic trail. Walk, jog, bike or horseback ride this beautiful route from the past.

The Great American Rail-Trail: Living up to its name, this trail runs from Washington DC to Seattle. The 3700 mile trail is mostly gravel and has some of the greatest scenery in the Midwest.

Ohio to Erie Trail: It is a dedicated multi-use trail like the others crossing from Ohio SW farm country to the NE part of the state. Crossing through many other trails, regional parks and nature preserves, including rural woodland, makes this trail a local favorite.

Sippo Valley Trail: Another trail through the hills and farmland of Ohio. This trail connects to many of the other trails and has a Trail Head within minutes of our properties.

Lyons Den Golf Course is ten minutes south and features 18 holes such as the barn hole, cemetery ridge and Devils Gulch.

Amish Country: A short 20 minute drive south and you can go back in time 150 years. Explore the area and you’re sure to find great places to shop for gifts you won't find anywhere else; whether it is a local world class furniture craftsman, the Amish flea market, Lehman hardware and more.

Venture Beyond our Boundaries: When staying at our property you'll notice it’s always a wonderful day in the neighborhood. We are more than one village, one country or one lifestyle. You'll find waterfall hikes, wineries galore, cultural festivals, living history and the steel city's tribute to football, the Canton Football Hall of Fame.
